On Friday 28th October, The Security Watchdog held their first Charity Night in aid of Children in Need raising in excess of £1000 for the cause. The event, held at the local Swan Hotel in Alton, comprised of a pub quiz, karaoke singing and a raffle of gifts generously donated by individuals and local businesses.
The night was expertly hosted by Chris Hodgson, Talent and Development Manager at The Security Watchdog, who took to the mic and ensured that all of the 70 employees taking part had fun and donated generously for charity. A total of 64 people entered the quiz competing fiercely for the top £80 cash prize which was eventually won by the Latinos. The karaoke proved more than popular when people discovered that they could bid for other people to sing and the only way to avoid singing was if the nominee matched the bid. As a result the night could have proved expensive for some, and especially the Directors, as bids came through in excess of £100 to sing an array of karaoke classics. Everyone entered into their singing in the spirit of charity and many demonstrated talents that they had clearly been hiding or supressing over the years. The final total raised on the night was £1063.43 which has since been donated to Children In Need.
The Security Watchdog would like to thank The Swan Hotel for their kind hospitality and all of the individuals and local businesses who generously donated prizes for the raffle.
