The Security Watchdog is proud to release the first dedicated magazine to pre-employment screening for 2010!
Help for Heroes is the chosen charity of The Security Watchdog. It supports our wounded. Help for Heroes provides practical direct support to those servicemen and women wounded in the line of duty in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Arch to Arc Challenge is a team challenge of epic proportions that will be run to raise money for Help for Heroes over the period of the 7th and 8th of July 2009. The race takes the form of a relay triathlon with competitors running from Marble Arch to Dover, then swimming the Channel to Calais followed by a cycle from the beach to Paris and the Arc de Triomphe.
Many will believe that team must consist of professional athletes in full time training, in order to be able to run the 90 miles to Dover, swim the 21 miles across the Channel and cycle the 180 miles to Paris but, this is not the case. Those taking part are all serving soldiers from 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery.
The idea to undertake such an arduous event for charity was hatched over a cup of tea whilst the Regiment was deployed in support of 16 Air Assault Brigade on operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan towards the end of 2008 and has grown from there.
The main aim is to raise money for the charity Help for Heroes, which is doing superb work in assisting British soldiers who have been wounded on current operations. If you feel, like The Security Watchdog does, that this is a worthwhile cause and that you would be willing to donate a small, or even better a large sum of money, the most effective way to do so is via their website:
