Terry O’Neil: Chairman

Terry has a career of establishing Best Practice organisations within the security and risk management field, and is a known advocate of raising standards. His strategic vision has particularly driven the development of Auditing Services, notably the successful Silver Fox Access Audit product.  He enjoys a high industry profile and writes prolifically for the security press.

Royal Military Academy educated, Terry established leading security company Argus Shield in the 1980s which was later acquired by Pinkerton. As Chief Executive of Pinkerton he led the company through three major international acquisitions to grow the organisation to £35M. Terry founded The Security Watchdog in 1998.

Susanne Thomson, BA (Combined Hons): Group Managing Director

Susanne is Group Managing Director for The Security Watchdog Screening Bureau, The Advisory Bureau and Momentum Security Recruitment.  Her background in international risk management spans over 25 years and she is a recognized influencer in the world of employment screening.

Co-founder of The Security Watchdog, Susanne was a key driver in updating the British Standard in security screening to become the ‘fit for purpose’ Code of Practice of today.

Steve O’Neil: Group Business Development Director

Steve is responsible for Group Business Development and has positioned The Security Watchdog’s growing product offering within an international framework.  He is also responsible for strengthening international client relations within the private and public sector. His dynamic leadership singles out The Security Watchdog as the prominent screening and risk consultancy organisation of choice.

Steve joined The Security Watchdog in 2002.  In 1998 he founded Dome IT Recruitment following a fast track career as a British Army officer.  In 2001 he established Momentum Recruitment, a dedicated international security recruitment consultancy, now part of The Security Watchdog Group.

Kate Sweeney: Associate Director – Screening Bureau Implementation

Kate is responsible for the implementation of new client accounts, translating tender requirements into effective processes and solutions with defined parameters.  Passionate about process, her department has been responsible for successfully rolling out hundreds of screening implementation programmes across diverse markets.

Kate has a background of over 10 years in recruitment management in the fast paced retail sector. Her Six Sigma knowledge and understanding of on-boarding challenges has transformed both implementation timelines and scope of bespoke PES documentation within our contract start-up service.

Sara Bartle: Associate Director – Screening Bureau Operations

Sara is responsible for the efficient operation of The Screening Bureau.  A charismatic people manager focused on productivity and compliance, Sara has cemented standard operating procedures to cover workflow, introduced ongoing refresher training programmes and implemented robust screening workarounds as a solution to common screening challenges.

Following a successful career in customer service management within commerce, Sara joined us in 2004.  She is a firm proponent of positive customer and candidate experience and is credited with managing a highly motivated workforce of screening professionals of industry repute.

Ewan Tweedie BSc (Hons) DPS: Associate Director -The Advisory Bureau

Ewan was a natural choice to manage The Advisory Bureau, the consultancy and audit services arm of The Security Watchdog.  A subject matter expert in international data protection, immigration and criminality, he advises organisations on Best Practice screening and vetting methodologies and cost/process efficiencies.

A management sciences graduate, Ewan joined The Security Watchdog in 2003 following a high profile career in public relations, recruitment and risk mitigation.
