Sky news reported that Heathrow Airport suspended 300 airside security passes. Workers at Heathrow have been arrested following the discovery of a criminal plot involving the illegal use of airside passes. Passes not only give access to the cargo storage areas where millions of pounds of valuable cargo are stored, but could also be used to execute terrorist actions.
Airside security screening is crucial for passenger, airport staff and national security. Staff must meet strict security criteria before a pass can be issued. Security Watchdog offers airlines, airports and airside suppliers a fully compliant airside screening service and currently supports several major airlines and airport groups with their airside staff screening.
