Apply for your own Basic DBS check
If you need a criminal record check for employment, volunteering or personal reasons, you can apply for a Basic DBS check as an individual.
A Basic DBS check shows any unspent criminal convictions and conditional cautions. It is not role-specific and can be used across any industry or purpose where a basic level of disclosure is sufficient.
The certificate is issued in your name and will be sent directly to you. You can then choose who to share it with.
Important Information
You must apply for a Basic DBS check for yourself only. It is a criminal offence to apply on behalf of another person without proper authority.
What is the cost of a Basic DBS Check?
The DBS sets a national fee of £21.50 for a Basic DBS check with providers, like Matrix Security Watchdog, charging an additional administration and processing fee. Costs for Disclosure Scotland and AccessNI are also set by the DBS, with the same additional admin fees applicable.
At Matrix Security Watchdog, we provide Basic DBS Checks and Disclosure Scotland Checks at the following prices:
£21.50 DBS fee (government-set) + £10.50 administration fee (including digital ID check)
£25.00 DBS fee (government-set) + £10.50 administration fee (including digital ID check)
Your total price includes application processing and identity verification.
