Education and Qualifications
This section is for you to tell us of any professional qualifications you have achieved that are relevant to the role you are going into. By professional qualifications, we mean a qualification set by an independent, official society or organisation in line with its charter that is recognised in your industry. For example, this could be the PRINCE2 Project Management Professional award via APMG or you could be a Chartered Accountant via the ICAEW. Academic qualifications studied through universities or colleges should be entered into the Education section. Please contact us using the Contact Us page should you be unsure of the qualifications we need to know about.
Please click ‘Add Professional Qualification’ to enter your details, and ‘Add’ once you have done so. You can edit the information you enter by clicking on the name of the qualification in the list. Please note that once you have submitted your details to us, you cannot make any changes.
The Education section is the chance for you to tell us about the qualifications you have achieved. Most often we need to only know about your highest achievement, so if you have both a degree and a postgraduate qualification, we need to know about the postgraduate qualification. The sentence at the top of the page will tell you exactly which qualifications we need to know about. Please note that it could also be that you have been in full time education during the period of time we are screening your employment history for. In this case, please enter the details here.

In this section we ask for the names and contact information of usually two people who can act as a character referee for you, should we need to. Most often we contact your character referees to verify your gap periods, so please choose people who have a rough knowledge of your employment history. Character referees should not be related to you by blood or marriage - this includes boyfriends or girlfriends, and their families. You should not be living with your character referee, and they will need to have known you for a minimum period of time. This is given in the sentence at the top of the page.
Some employers wish for your character referees to be of certain professional occupations or positions: for example, doctors, teachers or lawyers. If this is the case, your Candidate Guide document on the left hand side of your online form will explain this in further detail.
Please click ‘Add Referee’ to enter their details, and ‘Add’ once you have done so. You can edit the information you enter by clicking on the name of the referee in the list. Please note that once you have submitted your details to us, you cannot make any changes.

Please tell us your character referee’s occupation. Some employers wish for your character referees to be of certain types of professions or positions: for example, doctors or teachers. This is detailed in the Candidate Guide document downloadable from the left hand side of your online form. If your character referee is now retired, but used to be one of these professions, please let us know here.
We will, where possible, contact your character referee by telephone in the first instance, so that they are fully aware of the information we require from them. Please tell us their telephone number so we may do so.
If your character referee has an alternative mobile number to the one given above, please tell us here.
Please let us know your character referee’s email address. Whilst we will always try to speak to them first, we may have to send an email before doing so. Please ensure this is a suitable email address for them to receive such a request: a work email address may not be suitable.
How is this person related to you?
Please tell us how you know your character referee: for example they could be a friend, family friend or work colleague. Please note that they should not be related to you (including in laws or step-parents, or be your boyfriend or girlfriend or their family).
