HM Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
Introduced by Government in 2006 BPSS is the employee screening standard used for anyone working within or on behalf of a government department. This includes members of the armed forces, contractors and those working in the communications, energy and finance sectors. It is the basic entry-level standard that anyone working with the government is expected to comply to.
To meet the standard the following checks need to be completed: -
Identity & Right to Work checks
Residency Verification (UK and abroad)
5 or 10 year Employment checks
Standard Criminality check
Two Character references
