Meet the Management Team
At Security Watchdog we are committed to our clients and their candidates. We strive to deliver 'Delight through Excellence' and this mantra is core to the values of our management team. Why not take a few minutes to meet them: -
Susie Thomson, BA(Hons) - Managing Director
Susie is a co-founder of Security Watchdog when it was formed in 1998 with her father and brother. Supported by a dynamic leadership team, she is today responsible for managing the largest employment screening organisation in Europe with over 250 employees.
Coming from a background in risk management with over 30 years’ experience, she is a recognised influencer in the world of employment screening and was a key driver in updating the British Standard in security screening to become the ‘fit for purpose’ Code of Practice it is today.
Susie is a strong believer in the provision of ‘best in class’ customer service and the originator of Security Watchdog’s key value phrase of providing ‘Delight through Excellence’.
Steve O'Neil - UK & International Sales Director
Steve is responsible for sales and has positioned Security Watchdog’s growing product offering within an international framework. He is also responsible for strengthening international client relations within the private and public sector.
His dynamic leadership singles out Security Watchdog as the prominent background screening and risk consultancy organisation of choice. Steve joined Security Watchdog in 2002. In 1998 he founded Dome IT Recruitment following a fast track career as a British Army officer.
Ewan Tweedie BSc (Hons) DPS - Director of the advisory bureau
A management sciences graduate from Loughborough University, Ewan joined The Security Watchdog in 2003 following a high profile career in public relations, recruitment and risk mitigation. Ewan was a natural choice to manage The Advisory Bureau, the consultancy, training and audit services arm of The Security Watchdog. A subject matter expert in international data protection, immigration and criminality, he advises organisations on Best Practice screening and vetting methodologies and cost/process efficiencies.
Working with some of the largest names in industry, Ewan has successfully designed, developed and deployed Best Practice screening and vetting solutions in almost every industry sector in the UK, Europe and Internationally. To cover permanent, temporary, contract and supplier personnel, these solutions have served as an intrinsic element within his client’s overall corporate risk mitigation strategy.
Damian Scally - Finance Director
Damian has worked for Capita for the last 3 years as Financial Controller on RPP - a large, complex 10 year outsourcing contract to recruit soldiers to the British Army. Before Capita, he spent 12 years with IBM in a variety of Finance roles, and 2 years with CGI.
Ian Ross - Operations Director
Ian has over 20 years’ senior leadership experience in global contact centre transformation, digital technology, sales and service operations, project management, change management and commercial management. As a leader he is passionate about ensuring great customer and candidate experiences across all OMNI channels.
He has a reputation for being approachable, supportive and collaborative to all colleagues, leading from the front with a hands on approach. As Security Watchdog continues to broaden its international scope, Ian is a key stakeholder in progressing our company’s transformation.
Paul Goddard - IT Director
Paul has worked for Capita for 15 years, most recently providing interim cover for the IT Director role in Capita HR Solutions. Before that, he worked in IT covering bid work, technical architecture, implementation and IT delivery. His work has covered many parts of Capita including Capita Resourcing, Capita IT Services, BBC Audience Services, and Capita Learning & Development.
Despite being responsible for the team who built and supported the new audience ticketing system for BBC, he got rejected entry at the studio door to view a recording of a show due overbooking rules his team had implemented
Will Maddocks - Client Relations Director
Will is our problem solver and solution seeker. It’s his job, working with our 7 strong team of Client Relationship Managers, to ensure that Security Watchdog clients continue to receive the best possible service.
He is responsible for all aspects of our client relations from management reporting to service quality and customer satisfaction, reporting directly to Susie Thomson.
