There are three levels of DBS checks, Basic – which checks for any unspent convictions or conditional cautions, Standard – identifies any spent or unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings, and Enhanced – which is the same as the Standard check but also includes any relevant additional information held by local police, and Enhanced with Barred – which is the same as an Enhanced check but also identifies whether or not the applicant has been barred from working around children or vulnerable adults.
